Grampians Health Edenhope are delighted to welcome Carine Bezuidenhout to the team. Carine will support the team and community by providing counselling services which will contribute to the wellbeing and dignity of community members and staff.
Carine grew up in South Africa and immigrated to Australia in 2006 with her husband David and two daughters.
With a passion for helping people live life to the fullest, Carine is able to draw on her previous experience as a solicitor (in South Africa), a human resource manager and teacher (both South Africa and Australia) and qualified more recently as a counsellor, to achieve this.
“I became a counsellor because I am passionate about helping people to realise that they have the ability to live their life to the fullest. I assist people by showing them how to access to their own internal and external resources to cope with the curve balls that life throws at them. I will always have a very special spot for little people too,” said Carine.
“I am a great listener as a counsellor it is important to listen intently and treat others with respect.”
Working from the Health & Wellbeing Hub & Elsie Bennett Community Centre, Carine is available to community members to assist them and their families cope with a variety of issues such as the effects of illness, grief and loss, trauma and difficult events. This can be done either through individual, group or family counselling.
People can access Carine by contacting phoning 5585 9830 or on her mobile 0403 574 542.
“I am grateful for the relationships I already have with many residents in the community and I’m looking forward to strengthening these and build new ones in support of the needs in our community,” said Carine.
