With support from local florist and teacher, Rachel Farran, students in the ‘Hands on Learning Class’ asked the community to ‘sponsor a rose’ for an aged care resident.
The money raised will be donated to Cystic Fibrosis Australia, for research, advocacy and patient support.
The students’ efforts ensured every female resident was gifted a rose.
“Their eyes lit up, they were so thrilled,” Meaningful Life coordinator Amanda Post said.
“When they heard where the roses came from and what they were for, it added another layer of warmth to their afternoon.”
Dorothy ‘Doss’ Chenoweth has artificial flowers spread around her room and was grateful for the fresh addition.
“Flowers have always meant a lot to me, they just make you feel good,” she said.
“I’m 94 years old and waiting to get to 100, so I can get some delivered from Prince Harry!”
Congratulations and thank you to Edenhope College students, for their fundraising efforts and for bringing joy to our residents.
