Edenhope welcomes new permanent doctor Dr Sabiha Rimi

Dr Sabiha, her husband Fahmedul and eight year old son Sameed moved to Edenhope on Friday.

Moving from Adelaide, Dr Sabiha is excited about living in a small rural community, which will also be closer to some of her family who reside in Melbourne.

“When we visited Edenhope I really liked the town, especially the lake”

“This move will provide a better quality of life for my family,  as I  have been travelling 2 hours a day from Adelaide to Tailem Bend where I was working”

“I grew up in a small country town, where everyone knows everyone so it will be very familiar to me. I am looking forward to getting to know everyone”

Dr Sabiha grew up in Bangladesh and completed her studies and training there.  She and her husband moved to Adelaide Australia in 2012 where she worked in a general practice.

Her work then took her to Tailem Bend at a Medical Practice, which also serviced the local hospital and aged care facility.

Dr Sabiha has completed her Australian standard exams and is a registered General Practitioner. She has over 12 years overseas and 3 years Australian General Practice experience.

Dr Sabiha will be the visiting medical officer (VMO) for Edenhope & District Memorial Hospital and will be available for appointments at the Edenhope Medical Clinic which is now being run by Rural Doctors of Nhill.

The Edenhope Medical Clinic (formaly Edenhope Hospital Medical Clinic) is open 5 days a week, 8:30am to 5pm and is now a fully bulk billing clinic.
