Day Centre garden receives a makeover

Long time Day centre volunteers Val Winfield and Dorothy White have been busy.

For some time now they have felt that the garden at the back of the Elsie Bennet Centre needed attention and have decided to do something about it.

“I was able to get some funding from the Anglican Op shop in town to help with the purchase of some plants, we have also used cuttings from our own gardens”  Said Mrs Winfield

With some help from the hospital maintenance team, the two ladies then rolled their sleeves up and got to work putting in hours of their own time to transform the garden.

The results are very pleasing. “We have included lots of colour, so once the plants are established it will be very beautiful” said Mrs White.

Primary Care manager Rosemary Medlock is thrilled with the outcome “These ladies have done a wonderful job. I am impressed by their initiative to redevelop the garden.  It has created a wonderful outdoor area for our clients and visitors to enjoy”

“I would like to thank Val and Dorothy on behalf of the hospital and all that use the facility”.
